The pick is a part of shearer, roadheader and rotary excavator. It is one of the vulnerable parts in coal mining and roadway driving machinery, and is the main tool for coal falling and coal crushing. Among them, the shearer pick model is represented by "U", the roadheader pick model is represented by "S", and the rotary excavator pick model is represented by "C".
Commonly used materials Judging from the imported and domestic picks actually used by some domestic coal mines, the cutter body materials are mostly 42CrMo, 35CrMnSi and other steel grades, and some coal mines use the newly developed Si-Mn-Mo series quasi-bainitic steel. The coal industry pick standard for heat treatment process stipulates that the hardness of the pick body is 40-45HRC, and the impact toughness is not less than 49J/cm2. During the machining process, the material of the pick body should meet or exceed the required mechanical properties through heat treatment.
   Mining picks are subjected to high periodic compressive stress, shear stress and impact load when cutting coal and rock. Although the hardness of coal is not high, it often encounters hard minerals such as coal gangue. Friction and impact will also cause the temperature of the pick to increase. For the pick to work under such complex industrial and mining conditions, it is required that the pick body should have both wear resistance and good impact resistance.
The pick is mainly composed of a pick handle, a pick head, and an alloy cutter head. The pick handle and the pick head are often called the pick body. There are many types of mining picks, and the general structure is that a carbide tip is inserted on the quenched and tempered low-alloy structural steel cutter body.

Processing technology: The tooth body of the coal pick is made of high-strength alloy steel after heat treatment to maintain strong toughness and wear resistance; all the circlips are made of high-strength spring steel, which has good wear resistance. The head of the coal pick adopts isothermal quenching process, and the hardness is not reduced. The cemented carbide adopts YG13C processed by domestic regular manufacturers, and the quality is stable. Welding wear-resistant layer can be added according to customer needs. The hardness reaches more than 65 degrees.
